Final
The project I probably liked the most was the stop motion. It was so funny and just creative and we needed to move around rather than just taking a spot and shooting a picture. The project I liked least was the pop art. Probably because I was late to come to class so I had to hurry throughout the project rather than taking my time.

Composition Shoot
Make negative space interesting
For this shot, I just used the fencing in the lunch area and to make the negative space more interesting rather than just tables and chairs I asked Sadie to stand behind.
Overlapping
For this overlap shot, I just saw papers on top of each other on the bulletin board and they were overlapped as is so I just took a picture.
Rule of Thirds
I was having trouble finding a shot for rule of thirds and just took a picture oif the scenery having the mountains as the edges on top if that makes any sense haha
Runs of three edges
For the shot of the running of three edges, what I did is just shoot the scorpion and kind of angle the camera to where only three will have the object run through.
Repetition of Shapes
This is self explanatory, the bricks are just repeated.
Variety of Shapes
I just used this pattern that shows a variety of shapes.
S-Curve
We rearranged chairs to form as S.
Focal point
I used the scorpion as the focal point for this because it catches your eye first.
Use whole space
I just took a close up picture of this painting to fit the entire frame.

Text and Images
I googled a picture of field and ca me up with the picture below. I then added the mask inbetween where the sky and grass both can be seen. Wrote a phrase "Be happy" since I think it's relevant to the background and made a new layer and added some shadow on it.
Gaze project
- Create a blog post defining in (full sentences) your own words: Gaze Position and Re-Contextualization.
- Your project will be to re-contextualize an image or symbol to change the gaze position. This can be funny, critical, or absurd. Use Photoshop tools you have learned to change the image at least 50%.
- Post your original image or symbol, and then post your re-contextualized version.
- Include a 5 paragraph reflection about how you re-contextualized the image and why you made the decisions that you made.
In my opinion, gaze position is how you look at something that someone else is trying to make you feel. As for example, advertisements. The publisher is meant to make a reader be persuaded to buy the product they are selling. Re-Contextualization is when you put something in a different position to the audience, it can also change the gaze position.

For this picture - I turned a picture that is to mostly a female gaze and turn it into the stereotypical men gaze.

Unit 2: Persuasive Imagery
Unit Question: Does seeing mean believing?
Significant Concepts:
Unit Question: Does seeing mean believing?
Significant Concepts:
- How to deduce bias from contextual clues (both textually and visually)
- How to analyse and explain the use of design elements in advertisement
- How to infer and explain gaze position/demographic/target audiences of media
- How to recognize and deconstruct semiotics within media/advertisements

Photoshop Effect Answers
Should images of models that have been Photoshopped be labelled? Why or why not?
i
gghIIIIn my opinion, yes, I do think models should be photo shopped I know they have some wrongs in doing so, such as, putting in a normal girl's mind that the photo shopped picture is what's considered perfect in this society. Although, if they are shown in a real form, without Photoshop yes some people may be happy for them showing who they really are, but it's not what the industry's image is. It's their job to look beautiful, and they probably already are alone, but with Photoshop they can look much better which is why it is put out into the world. You think people will buy a magazine with a girl representing a flawless face and thin body and her not having those traits? No. No matter what people think about the industry, it's one of those things that should be done.
If steroids are illegal for athletes, should Photoshop be illegal for models?
No because as I said, it's one of those "have to be done tasks". With steroids, the athletes cheats his way to success. With Photoshop and a model, it's already a competitive industry, if you get in, then you meet the standards and Photoshop helps with the performance. And also, models are not only seen in photoshopped pictures but in a runway. Which is all real and natural.

Spot the difference
Here is what I edited:
Here is the original picture:
This project was a challenge to me. I did my best though, and some of the differences look good and realistic to me/ Although, towards the end - I ran out of ideas on what to change or add in.

Aperature Shoot
1/1250 sec; f/3.5; ISO 1600
Using her as my subject, I used F36 to make her background fully blurry, making her the focal point.
1/320 sec; f/8; ISO 1600
Using the F8, it stood as a mid range making her and the background blurry, although, the background being less blurry than the first one.
1/80 sec; f/16; ISO 1600
Using F16, It made the subject AND the background completely focused with no blurriness.
In photoshop, I sharpedned all three images, and change their saturation to get more of a washed out feel rather than a vibrant shot ( which was the original )

Color Wheel
For this project, I went around school shooting different hues and shades of colors that are seen on the color wheel. I then just cropped random shapes in the certain color and made it into this circle-ish thing to represent as my color wheel.

Photo Montage
Photo Montage #1
I shot the parking lot, to be my first montage. I took the shots from one end to the other, overlapping them too much. although, i thought, even with the too much overlapping, it turned out pretty good!
Photo Montage #2
I actually really enjoy how this turned out. We went into a classroom and shot the class doing their usual things, asked them to not acknowledge us taking the picture. I shot the picture from one end of the room to the other and made them into this montage.

Photo Retouching
First Photo:
I used the spot healing tool and healing brush tool to fix the tears and creases on the picture shown above.
Second Photo
I looked for water damage pictures on google and fixed it up using the same tool, and using the normal brush tool to paint a low opacity color over the old one. Used the spot healing tool on most of the dark spots.

Pop Art Project
I took 3 pictures then I proceeded into the pop art project. I just took the pictures I took, placed them in various locations and patterns and used the gradient map tool to give them contrast and color.

Face Swap
For this project, I took a picture of Zooey and Joseph together during a premiere. They were looking the similar way so I decided to choose it. I swapped the faces of them to each other's bodies, it didn't turn out as well as I thought it should. Although I liked the way Joseph looks in Zooey's body.

First Roll
Shadow: I shot a picture when I saw the tree was making a shadow of it's leaves, during so I also caught my own shadow and decided to leave it as is.
Sidelighting: Seeing how the shade and the sun is on opposite sides of this tree causing one side to be darker than the other, I took the shot and it perfectly shows a significance difference with both of the sides.
Texture: For my I decided from the start that a shot of grass would be a perfect example. Knowing how the feel of grass is, looking at the picture shot makes you know how the texture would be like even in a photo.
Backlighting: When walking through the back of the school, I stopped my partner for the perfect shot with the perfect background. The sun was directly behind him which caused him to be a slight silhouette with a bit of light.
Angle up: Seeing how the pole is extremely tall, having a shot from the bottom had it where the bottom was thicker and as it goes up, it gets thinner and thinner.
Perspective: When I went up the bleachers, turned to my left, I saw my perspective photo. Seeing that the seats, when it goes farther, has the same vanishing point, I took the picture.
Angle down: I didn't want to do a cliche photo shot of our feet shooting it from above. I told my partner to go down to the ground while I stay up on the bleachers and shot straight down which caused my angle down shot.
Pattern: I saw this brick pattern and thought it would be great for the pattern photo. Each bricks are in the same spot every other line which causes an obvious pattern.
Reflection: I told my partner to stand in front a window which the window reflects his face and body. I took the shot as is.
Frame within a frame: It was hard to find a shot for this one. I decided the easiest one that I could do is take a picture of a picture within a picture frame. The shot itself being one frame and the picture in the frame being the frame within a frame.
